About
Welcome to the flavorful world of Goode Company BBQ, nestled on the bustling northwest freeway of Houston, Texas. This establishment is a true homage to Texan barbecue culture, offering hearty dishes that sing with smoky flavors and rich textures. At a glance, you’re welcomed into an atmosphere that marries nostalgia with warmth, adorned with unique Texan memorabilia and charming decor that truly captures the essence of the Lone Star State.
As I peruse the menu, the standout star is undeniably the moist brisket, which has received acclaim from patrons like Bradley Fuqua. His description of the brisket's marbling and flavorful bark paints a mouthwatering picture—his experience was elevated by not even needing a knife! This tender offering, with its perfect blend of fat and flavor, is a must-try for any barbecue aficionado.
But the dining experience at Goode Company BBQ doesn’t stop at its sensational meats. Customers rave about the mac and cheese, a creamy side that complements the main attractions perfectly. Meanwhile, the beans, albeit a touch on the sweeter side, add a unique twist that keeps diners intrigued. As Mark Ybarra points out, the generous serving sizes paired with reasonable prices ensure that you leave both satisfied and content.
The pleasant service at Goode Company BBQ is also worth noting. Patrons consistently highlight the friendly demeanor of the staff, which adds a touch of hospitality to the overall dining experience. Whether you're savoring your food indoors or enjoying the ambiance outside—with comforting temperature control—it’s clear that every effort is made to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
As seen through the eyes of Laura Hogan, the beautifully decorated restaurant enhances the dining experience, offering a clean and inviting space, whether you're seated indoors or outdoors. The mention of ceiling heaters and fans illustrates their attention to detail, allowing guests to enjoy their meal regardless of the weather.
In summary, Goode Company BBQ isn't just a place to eat; it's a full experience steeped in Texas tradition. With succulent brisket, delightful sides, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere, it's a spot that beckons you to return time and again. If you find yourself in the Houston area, be sure to stop by and let your taste buds indulge in the rich flavors that this BBQ haven has to offer!
“ I got a 1 meat plate then asked for "moist brisket, extra moist" and they sure did deliver. Marbling was amazing, the bark was flavorful, and I didn't even need a knife. Mac n cheese was good. Beans were different, kinda sweet, but good. If I'm in the area again I'll be back. ”
“ Excellent food and staff. Great serving size for the price. ”
“ The moist brisket is my go-to. It did not disappoint. Love the displays of Texan memorabilia, photos, trophies and the pistol door handles ”
“ Good first time experience. Great food, great customer service and beautifully decorated restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating, both are kept clean and comfortable. Outdoor seating has ceiling heaters and fans so temperature is not an issue if you want to dine outside. Prices are very reasonable. ”
“ Service was very pleasant. The guy cutting the meat and the servers were all friendly The brisket (mostly lean w some moist) was really good. Potato salad & coleslaw also good I would only change the bbq sauce (personal preference but not crazy about warm bbq sauce and was a little too close to marinara for me) Other than that, a neat atmosphere with lots of Texas antiques ”
“ If you’re looking for a truly Texan experience with all the hearty, well-seasoned goodness you could ask for, this is the place to go. I’ve been a regular at Lazy Dog just across the street—let’s face it, we’re all creatures of habit—but I decided to shake things up and give this spot a try. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised! It felt like stumbling upon a hidden treasure, the kind that makes you wonder, “Why didn’t I know about this sooner?” Let’s talk about the food, because that’s why we’re here, right? The baked potatoes were out of this world—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Seriously, these potatoes aren’t just a side dish; they’re a star all on their own. And the brisket? Well, it was tender, juicy, and had that smoky flavor that only real Texas BBQ can deliver. You know that moment when you take a bite, pause, and just have to let out a satisfied “mmm”? Yeah, that was me, probably embarrassing myself, but who cares when the food is this good? Now, let’s not skip the dessert. Normally, I’m one of those people who “just looks” at the dessert menu, fully intending to resist. But here? Resistance was futile. The desserts were practically waving at me from the checkout area, already beautifully prepared and ready to go. It was like they knew I didn’t stand a chance. And honestly, I’m not even mad about it. Oh, and if you need a last-minute gift—or just want to treat yourself—this place has you covered with their cute little gift section. I almost left with a bag of goodies I didn’t plan to buy, but who can resist a little retail therapy after a great meal? Last but definitely not least, the staff was incredibly sweet. It felt like being welcomed into a friend’s home where they’re genuinely happy to see you and make sure you leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face. Friendly, attentive, and just all-around delightful, they really added to the experience. So, if you find yourself near this spot, do yourself a favor and check it out. You might be coming for the baked potatoes, but you’ll leave with a new favorite spot—and probably a little extra dessert in hand. Cheers ”
“ After being closed for two years, and then open on the weekends, this eatery is now open full-time. Perfect place from big parties/groups. Plenty of space to eat outside or inside. Macaroni is where it’s at. I would get any protein and mix it in with their Mac. Macaroni is the perfect consistency of cheesiness and the pasta is not mushy. Everything is seasoned well. Staff is friendly. ”
“ I’ve been to a lot of barbecue places in my life and I can easily say this was one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly done, I had the opportunity to try a lot and there was not a single thing I got that was poorly done or not amazing. The food was super tender and flavorful, the barbecue sauce was the best I’ve ever had and overall this place deserves more stars than I can rate it. The service was incredible with a sweet lady constantly checking on us and making sure we enjoyed everything. The chicken was my favorite, it was extremely tender and the pecan pie was by far the best I’ve ever had. Thank you Goode Company! ”
